is organizing Terry Fox Run

Saturday November 14, 2009

at the Giza Pyramids from 9 am to 12pm  

                                                               

Location: Giza Pyramids Site – open area next to the Sphinx Sound and Light Show (Nazlet El Semman gate) 

Date: November 14 at 10am

Event: raise funds for the fight against cancer

Fees: FREE ENTRY/ participants will be identified by plastic bracelets, you can get it in advance from the Embassy of Canada or from the Cancer Hospital 57357 . It can also be obtained on race-day at the pyramids gates. 

 

The Canadian Embassy in Cairo will hold a Terry Fox Run on Saturday, November 14 by the Giza pyramids under the auspices of the Supreme Council of Antiquities. Donations will be accepted in advance or on the day of the event, by cash or cheque. All funds raised will go to support cancer research in Egypt.

In 1981, Terry Fox attempted to traverse the provinces of Canada to raise funding and awareness towards finding a cure for all cancers. A cancer victim himself, Terry Fox died at the age 22, after running for 143 days and 5,373 kilometres (3,339 miles). Following his passing, Canadians adopted Terry’s mission with an enthusiasm and passion that has done him proud. In keeping with the approach of its founder, The Terry Fox Run is an innovative and volunteer-led event, all-inclusive, non-competitive, with no fundraising minimums. Participants are simply encouraged to make voluntary contributions toward the fight against cancer.    

Following the run, a raffle (tombola) will be held on site in presence of H. E. The Ambassador of Canada, Ferry de Kerckhove and many celebrities

 ماراثون تيري فوكسTerry Fox Run

 من الساعة 9 صباحا وحتى 12 ظهرا

 

المكان: اهرامات الجيزة - منطقة الصوت والضوء بالقرب من أبو الهول

المسافة: سيبدأ الماراثون فى تمام الساعة 10 صباحا من منطقة الصوت والضوء (بوابة نزلة السمان)
الهدف: جمع ا التبرعات لمكافحة السرطان

الرسوم: الدخول مجانا وسيتم توزيع أسورة لليد بلاستيك للمشاركين / يمكنكم الحصول على الاساور مقدما من مقر سفارة كندا أو من مستشفى سرطان الاطفال 57357 و كذلك يوم الماراثون عند البوابات 

 

اجتاز تيري مقاطعات كندا لجمع التبرعات من أجل التوعية لإيجاد علاج لجميع أنواع السرطان. في عام 1981 ، توفي تيري فوكس من اثر إصابته بالسرطان عن عمر يناهز 22 بعد ماراثون لمدة 143 يوما و5,373 كيلومتر (3،339 ميل).  وبعد وفاته، تبنى الكنديين رسالة تيري بحماس وعاطفة تستحق الفخر. و تمشيا مع نهج مؤسسها، سباق تيري فوكس هو سباق تطوعى ، وغيرتنافسى ، بدون حد أدنى لجمع التبرعات .

نشجيع المشاركين لتقديم تبرعات  لمكافحة مرض السرطان وسوف يتم تلقى التبرعات مقدما وفي يوم الحدث ، نقدا أو بشيكات. و يخصص كل العائد  لصالح مستشفى سرطان الأطفال 57357 لأبحاث السرطان.

 

  سيعقد سحب(تومبولا) على جوائز قيمة بعد السباق بحضور سعادة سفير كندا، فيري دي كيركوف وعدد من النجوم ومن بينهم الفنانة سيمون
