”Women in Politics: Are women’s rights possible to debate in the political sphere?” April, 20th -22nd, 2010 Alexandria, Egypt
The Swedish Institute in Alexandria, an independent body of the Swedish Foreign Service, and The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation have the pleasure to invite you to the seminar “Women in Politics: Are women’s rights possible to debate in the political sphere?” on April 20th -22nd, 2010, at the Swedish Institute in Alexandria, Egypt.
Background
The Swedish Institute in Alexandria and The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation gathered on Dec 14th -15th, 2008, at the Swedish Institute in Alexandria, Egypt over 35 women; members of parliaments, politicians from local governments and activists from civil society organizations from 10 countries from The Middle East, European Union, The Balkans and Caucasus for the seminar “Women in Politics: A Space for Social Changes”. Women’s rights activists, feminists and politicians examined together alternatives and meanings of gender equality politics and produced Conclusions and Recommendations. /see annex1/
The general conclusions and the way ahead from the previous Seminar can be summarized as follows:
As the Swedish Institute and Kvinna till Kvinna continually provide a safe empowerment space where women from the different spheres of the society can meet, debate and exchange experiences, ideas and knowledge, in April this year we organize a follow up Seminar “Women in Politics: Are women’s rights possible to debate in the political sphere?” to address critical questions as to whether it is possible to create a space within the political sphere where women’s rights and gender equality can be debated freely; what strategies can be used if so; how women activists and feminist from the civil society can be a support, resource but also a monitor to the female politicians; how we can attract or obliged men to take up our issues, etc. These are only some of the questions that have been on the agenda of both female politicians and civil actors for some time. Through exchange of experiences from women MPs and female politicians from local self government from Mashrek, Maghreb, European Union and The Balkans, as well as with women from the civil society who work to for increase of women’s political participation globally and locally, we hope to inspire for action and set feasible goals for changing of a situation where women are grossly underrepresented in political decision-making. ==================== المرأة و السياسة
ينظم المعهد السويدى بالإسكندرية بالتعاون مع منظمة " كيفينا تل كيفينا " Kvinna till Kvinna السويدية( بالعربية:منظمة المرأة للمرأة ) الندوة الدولية حول .. المرأة و السياسة ، حيث تفتتح السيدة/ سيسليا سترنيمو نائب مدير المعهد السويدى بالإسكندرية ، فى التاسعة من صباح الثلاثاء الموافق 20 أبريل 2010 بمقر المعهد فعاليات الندوة ( من 20 : 22 أبريل الجارى ) .
تناقش الندوة قضايا و حقوق المرأة المختلفة فى المجال السياسى ، و كيفية منحها مساحة فى المشاركة السياسية من خلال تواجدها داخل منظمات المجتمع المدنى النسائية ، و ما هى احتياجاتها و اهتماماتها للحصول على حقوقها السياسية من المنظور الاجتماعى السياسى ، وذلك من خلال تبادل الأفكار والخبرات على الصعيد المحلى و الدولى للثقافات المختلفة ، أيضا تناقش تحديد آليات التنفيذ للوصول الى الهدف المشترك المنشود ، و وضع استراتيجيات لتعزيز حقوق المرأة السياسية و الى المساواة بين الجنسين.
يشارك فى الندوة ممثلين عن المجتمع المدنى من المنظمات النسائية وحقوق الإنسان من الدول : مصر – العراق – الأردن – فلسطين – سوريا- تونس – المغرب – كرواتيا – جورجيا – فرنسا و السويد .

يشارك فى المؤتمر سيدات عربيات تقلدن مناصب هامة فى مجال القضاء من الدول: اليمن – السودان – سوريا – لبنان – تونس و مصر ،، ليناقشن قصصهن و تجاربهن فى مجال العمل القضائى من خلال عدة محاور حول : - التغيرات الثقافية لتعيين المرأة قاضية . - المرأة و ظروف العمل كقاضية . - دور الدولة و المرأة للريادة و للحصول على المناصب القضائية . - المرأة و عوامل النجاح فى مجال القضاء .
هذا و من المقرر أن يعقد عقب الجلسة الافتتاحية للمؤتمر يوم الأحد الموافق11 أبريل 2010 ، مؤتمرا صحفيا فى الساعة الحادية عشر صباحا بمقر الجامعة العربية بالقاهرة . ==================== معرض مصورى الصحافة السكندرية
يفتتح السيد اللواء/ عادل لبيب محافظ الإسكندرية و السيدة/ سيسليا سترنيمو نائب مدير المعهد السويدى بالإسكندرية ، فى السادسة من مساء الثلاثاء الموافق 16مارس الجارى بمقر المعهد "معرض مصورى الصحافة السكندرية" .
يحتوى المعرض على 40 صورة فوتوغرافية من إبداعات أربعة مصورين شباب من محترفي فن التصوير الصحفى بالإسكندرية هم:
- طارق الفرماوى المصور بجريدة المصرى اليوم - طارق فتحى المصور بوكالة أنباء الشرق الأوسط - عصام صبرى المصور بجريدة الأخبار - عصام شكرى المصور بجريدة الأهرام
تتنوع صور الفرسان الأربعة بالمعرض ، حيث تضم مجموعة منتقاة من الصورالتى تبرز الدور الهام للتصوير الصحفى و الذى يعد توثيق لأحداث هامة شهدتها الإسكندرية ، مع إظهار الجانب الفنى و الجمالى فى الأعمال .
بعد مراسم الافتتاح سوف تعقد ندوة مصاحبة للمعرض ، يتحدث فيها كل من الفنان/ عصمت داوستاشى عن تاريخ التصوير الضوئى بالإسكندرية منذ القرن التاسع عشر وحتى الآن ، ثم يتحدث الاستاذ/ حسين فتحى نائب رئيس تحرير جريدة الأهرام ، عن الصورة الصحفية فى الإعلام و الصحافة الإليكترونية . ==================== Arab Media from a Gender Perspective: Orientations and tools

إطلاق وثيقة الإعلام العربى من منظور النوع الاجتماعى
يستضيف المعهد السويدى بالإسكندرية يومى 7 ، 8 ديسمبر 2009 ، ندوة حول " إطلاق وثيقة الإعلام العربى من منظور النوع الاجتماعى .. اتجاهات وأدوات تفعيل " ، التى ينظمها المعهد بالتعاون مع جامعة الدول العربية ، و مركز المرأة العربية للتدريب و البحوث " كوثر " .
يشارك فى الندوة منظمات وهيئات دولية ، و أيضا إعلاميين من وسائل إعلام مختلفة من الدول : مصر - تونس – الأردن – الإمارات العربية - البحرين – الجزائر – لبنان – المغرب – السعودية – اليمن – الكويت – فلسطين - السودان ، الى جانب ألمانيا وفرنسا و بلجيكا و السويد .
تهدف الوثيقة الى المساهمة فى تأسيس بيئة إعلامية منصفة للمرأة ، والى تحسين صورة المرأة فى وسائل الإعلام العربية من خلال ممارسة إعلامية مبنية على المساواة و الإنصاف و التكافؤ ، حيث لا تزال صورة المرأة فى وسائل الإعلام سلبية ، كذلك الى المساواة و التكافؤ المهنى بين الإعلاميات و الإعلاميين على مختلف المستويات وفى كل المراحل ، من اجل دعم دور المرأة ومكانتها الهامة و المؤثرة فى المجتمع .. تتضمن الوثيقة بعض المقترحات لتفعيل تلك الأهداف الاستراتيجية ، و التى سوف يناقشها المشاركون و سبل تطبيقها على ارض الواقع لخلق بيئة إعلامية عادلة منصفة للرجل و المرأة على حد السواء ، أيضا مناقشة منهاج للعمل الإعلامي المشترك والذى يمكن الرجوع إليه عند وضع خطط وبرامج العمل . ==================== European Union Ambassadors visiting Alexandria 20 October
On 20 October, the Ambassadors of the Member States and the Commission of the European Union will visit Alexandria, in an initiative to draw the attention to EU affiliations in Egypt outside Cairo. A key theme of this event is climate change and environmental issues. Sweden currently holds the Presidency of the European Union. During the Swedish Presidency period, the Climate Conference in Copenhagen will take place. The EU will continue to actively take on the challenges posed by climate change. Consequently, all the ambassadors and invited Egyptian officials will go by train to Alexandria, representing an environmentally friendly way of travelling. The train is equipped with a modern conference car, which will provide an opportunity for the EU and Egypt representatives to further discuss cooperation strategies to combat climate change and global warming, as well as Egypt’s environmental challenges and concerns prior to the Climate Conference in Copenhagen.
In Alexandria the ambassadors will visit the Anna Lindh Foundation and Executive Director Andreu Claret. The Anna Lindh Foundation is an important Euromed institution shared and resourced by over forty Euro-Mediterranean countries, which strives to bring people together as a way to promote dialogue between cultures and respect for diversity. The briefing by the Anna Lindh Foundation will be held in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
A luncheon with the Governor H.E. Gen. Adel Labib will take place at the Swedish Institute in Alexandria (an autonomous part of Sweden's Foreign Service) where additional high level Egyptian officials from Alexandria will be participating.
The ambassadors will return to Cairo the same day by train ==================== سفراء الاتحاد الأوروبي بالمعهد السويدى بالإسكندريةيستضيف المعهد السويدى بالإسكندرية برئاسة السفير/ تومى ارفيتز يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 20 أكتوبر2009 ، اجتماع سفراء الاتحاد الأوروبى بالقاهرة " يمثلون 27 دولة أوروبية " .
تهدف زيارة السفراء الى إلقاء الضوء على الهيئات التابعة للاتحاد الأوروبى خارج القاهرة ، حيث يقوموا بزيارة مؤسسة أنا لند لحوار الثقافات بمقرها بمكتبة الإسكندرية ، ثم زيارة المعهد السويدى ، حيث يلتقون فيه بالسيد اللواء/ عادل لبيب محافظ الإسكندرية كضيف شرف لهذا اللقاء ، مرحبا بهم و متحدثا إليهم عن التطور والمشاريع المستقبلية بمدينة الإسكندرية .
أيضا سوف يتم مناقشة التحول المناخى و المواضيع المتعلقة بالبيئة من خلال عرض استراتيجيات التعاون من اجل مواجهة التغير المناخى و الاحتباس الحرارى .. و حرصا منهم على بيئة نظيفة خالية من التلوث ، فقد أصروا على أن تكون وسيلة الانتقال للإسكندرية و العودة بالقطار ، حيث يرافقهم فيها بعض المسئولون فى وزارة البيئة المصرية .
يذكر انه سوف يعقد فى كوبنهاجن فى ديسمبر المقبل خلال فترة رئاسة السويد للاتحاد الأوروبي ، مؤتمر قمة عالمى عن التغيرات المناخية فى العالم . ==================== |
