Egypt is celebrating the hosting of the 10^th anniversary of the annual Karting World finals (Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals), which is the largest world championship in Karting, with more than 216 Drivers from 55 different countries around the world with their administrative and Mechanical teams. Egypt host Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals 2009

On Ghibli Raceway international Karting Track

This is year 2009, Ghibli Raceway and BRP-Rotax are celebrating the 10^th anniversary for Max Challenge by hosting The Grand Finals 2009 at Ghibli Raceway – Sharm El Shiekh, Egypt.

More than 15,000 drivers from more than 55 nations compete all the year, only the top and the best 216 drivers gathered in “Rotax Grand Finals”,Not only drivers competing but team managers, mechanics and assistants more than 700 people coming with the drivers full of adrenalin for winning the world finals.

In ten years, the RMC has become the biggest kart racing series in the world. Up to
216 of the best drivers from 58 countries and all five continents gathered to crown the
best amongst them. The Rotax MAX Challenge is organized by BRP-Rotax, the world
leading manufacturer of kart engines with over 15.000 drivers worldwide. "We are proud
to host so many different nations and cultures. All of them striving together for just one
goal: Winning the prestigious title Rotax MAX Challenge World Champion", said Hany Soufrakis. Chairman of Ghibli Raceway "That's why we call it the "Olympic Games of Karting" he adds.

The Rotax MAX Challenge is following strict rules: Sealed engines, same tyres and
similar vehicles ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to win. The power packs
used for the races are sealed Rotax^® Junior MAX, MAX as well as MAX DD2 engines.
Modifications are strictly forbidden.

The Rotax MAX Challenge is the biggest kart race series in the world. During the
season, authorised BRP-Rotax kart distributors organise national / international
competitions around the world. The best drivers from the Rotax MAX Challenges qualify
for the annual GRAND FINAL. Already at the age of 13 drivers can start their racing
career in the Rotax MAX Challenge. The RMC offers 5 race categories plus 1 nations
cup.

مصر تستضيف نهائيات بطولة العالم للكارتينج (Rotax Max Challenge – Grand Finals)

على حلبة جيبلى رايس واى الدولية بشرم الشيخ

يحتفل الإتحاد الدولى لرياضة السيارات (FIA) والإتحاد الدولى للكارتينج (CIK) بالذكرى العاشرة لتنظيم بطولة العالم للكارتينج  ((Rotax Max Challenge – Grand Finals ، والتى ستستضيف تنظيم نهائياتها حلبة جيبلى رايس واى الدولية للكارتينج بمدينة السلام المصرية – شرم الشيخ بالفترة من 5 – 12 ديسمبر 2009 ..

ويأتى تنظيم هذه البطولة للمرة العاشرة عالمياً وللمرة الثانية على أرض مصر وبالتحديد على حلبة جيبلى رايس واى الدولية – حيث شهدت إستضافتها مصر للمرة الأولى عام 2004 وعلى نفس الحلبة -  الأمر الذى يأتى ليؤكد قدرة مصر على إستضافة مثل هذه البطولات العالمية، وكذا لما تتمتع به حلبة جيبلى رايس واى من سمعة عالمية بهذه الرياضة حيث أنها تحمل التصنيف رقم (1) على مستوى مصر والشرق الأوسط ورقم (4) على مستوى العالم، كما سيشارك بهذه البطولة 216 متسابق من أكثر من 58 دولة حول العالم، علاوة على فرق الصيانة والإدارة المصاحبة لهم، وذلك بخلاف فرق القنوات التلفزيونية العالمية والمحلية وكذا ممثلى الصحافة والضيوف من كافة هذه الدول.

هذا، وتأتى هذه البطولة فى مصر تحت إشراف كل من نادى السيارات والرحلات المصرى (ATCE) والإتحاد المصرى للرياضات الموتورية الأرضية (EFMS) والمجلس القومى للرياضة (NSC) ، ودعم كل من وزارة السياحة المصرية والهيئة المصرية لتنشيط السياحة . هذا بالإضافة لرعايتها من جانب العديد من المؤسسات والشركات المحلية والعالمية.

ويرجع تاريخ بطولة العالم للكارتينج التى تنظمها مؤسسة روتاكس العالمية المتخصصة فى إنتاج محركات روتاكس المتفوقة بمجال سباقات الكارتينج (بخلاف المجالات الأخرى)، إلى تسع سنوات سابقة حيث بدأت أولاها عام 2000 فى بورتوريكو تبعتها ماليزيا، جنوب أفريقيا، مصر ، إسبانيا (جزر الكنارى)، ماليزيا ، البرتغال ، الإمارات العربية المتحدة, وآخرها بنهاية العام الماضى 2008 فى إيطاليا – حيث شارك بتصفياتها أكثر من 15,000 متسابق من 57 دولة حول العالم، أما نهائياتها فقد شهدت مشاركة 216 متسابق - وهو الأمر نفسه الذى ستشهده الدورة العاشرة للبطولة فى مصر مع نهاية العام الجارى.  

يقول هانى سفراكس – رئيس مجلس إدارة جيبلى رايس واى " إن سعينا المستمر نحو تطوير عملنا برياضة السيارات بصفة عامة ورياضة الكارتينج بصفة خاصة ليس فقط على المستوى المحلى فى مصر بل وأيضاً على مستوى الشرق الأوسط والعالم، قد كان من أهم الدوافع التى ساهمت فى حصولنا على الموافقة بتنظيم الدورة العاشرة من نهائيات بطولة العالم للكارتينج لتحديات روتاكس ماكس، كما أن إستضافة مصر للدورة الرابعة لهذه البطولة العالمية عام 2004 والتى حضرها أكثر من 100 متسابق من 38 دولة حول العالم كان له الأثر البالغ فى خبرتنا وإستعداداتنا لتنظيم الدورة القادمة لنهائيات عام 2009 خلال ديسمبر المقبل".

ومن جانبه أكد ديريك ليدجر – نائب رئيس الإتحاد الدولى لرياضة السيارات (FIA) وممثل منطقة الشرق الأوسط، على أن مثل هذه النوعية من البطولات العالمية التى تشهد المنطقة تنظيمها بشكل عام ومصر بشكل خاص .. إنما يؤكد على مدى تطور ونمو رياضة السيارات بأنواعها وخاصة مع دخول العديد من البطولات العالمية فى مجال هذه الرياضة على الساحة العربية والتى كانت بعيدة نسبياً قبل ما يقرب من عشر سنوات ماضية... الأمر نفسه الذى عبر عنه المستشار/ مقبل شاكر – رئيس مجلس إدارة نادى السيارات والرحلات المصرى وممثل الإتحاد الدولى لرياضة السيارات، حيث أشار إلى أهمية رعايتهم ودعمهم لرياضة السيارات على أرض مصر من منطلق خلق أجيال جديدة أكثر إهتماماً بهذه الرياضة وتمثيلاً لها بالمحافل العربية والعالمية. 

لمحة تاريخية عن حلبة جيبلى رايس واى:

تعد حلبة جيبلى رايس واى الدولية للكارتينج أولى وأكبر الحلبات من هذا النوع فى مصر والشرق الأوسط والتى تم إنشأها عام 2001، وقد إستطاعت عام 2003 أن تحصل على تصنيف (A) وهو أعلى تصنيف من الإتحاد الدولى للكارتينج (CIK) والإتحاد الدولى لرياضة السيارات (FIA) وخاصة مع طول يزيد عن 1300 م ، حيث تعد بدورها أحد أفضل أربعة حلبات على مستوى العالم ، كما أنها قامت بإستضافة نهائيات بطولة العالم لتحديات روتاكس ماكس للكارتينج عام 2004 والتى شارك بتصفياتها أكثر من 7000 متسابق من 38 دولة ، وذلك بخلاف إستضافتها للعديد من البطولات المحلية والإقليمية لمصر والشرق الأوسط.

هذا ، وقد كانت "حلبة جيبلى رايس واى الدولية للكارتينج" المحطة التى لفتت أنظار العديد من أبطال اللعبة والمشاهير مثل مايكل شوماخر – بطل العالم لسبع مرات وكذا ديفيد كولتهارد فى بطولة (فورميلا واحد) Formula One العالمية، وجيانى موربيديللي مدرب ميناردى فى بطولة (فورميلا واحد) ومتسابق السكوديريا فيرارى علاوة على بول ستيوارت وهو نجل أسطورة (فورميلا واحد) السير/ جاكى ستيوارت. كما شرفت جيبلي باستضافة صاحب الجلالة الملك حمد آل خليفة ملك البحرين.
