Dear Colleagues
The Chairman of the Egyptian State Information service, Ambassador
Ismail Khairat today promised the FPA his support of the project to
visit Gaza strip starting from 16th February 2009 through the
Rafah frontier post, even if a special permit should be needed
For that purposes following documents are needed:
1-
the press card of the press center valid for 2009
2-
a letter of the embassy concerned stating, that he or she is
correspondent of a media known to the embassy
3-
a written commitment that he or she is well aware of the dangers he/she
might encounter during this trip to Gaza strip, and that bears the full
responsibility of any detrimental incident during the period of his/her
departure from the Egyptian Rafah frontier post and his/her return to
the same crossing point, and that he/she will not demand from any
Egyptian side or authority any kind of indemnification or alike during
his/her stay in the Gaza strip
Note: any regular FPA members are entitled to participate in FPA trips
beyond the Egyptian frontiers according to FPA rules

على أن يحمل أعضاء الوفد بطاقة المركز الصحفى للهيئة العامة للآستعلامات
لعام 2009، ورسالة من سفارة الدولة التى يحمل جنسيتها تتضمن كونه مراسلا
لوسيلة أعلام

تعهد خطى بأن المراسل/المراسلة على علم بالآخطار التى قد يتعرضوا لها فى
قطاع غزة وأنه/أنها تتحمل المسئولية الكاملة عن أى شىء يمسه/يمسها خلال
فترة مغادرة مصر الى غزة والعودة اليه عن طريق معبر رفح ولن يطالب/تطالب أى
جهة مصرية بأى نوع من التعويض أو مايشبه ذلك لآى ضرر يلحق به/بها خلال
التواجد فى قطاع غزة
ملحوظة: أحر موعد لتسجيل أسماؤكم فى الزيارة هو يوم الآثنين القادم 9فبراير

Dear members of the Cairo Foreign Press Association,
the FPA envisages a visit to the Gaza Strip for four days.
The Egyptian authorities concerned expressed their readiness to
facilitate the entry and return for the FPA group through the Egyptian
Rafah frontier post in order to spare our time and waiting for days and
hours.
However the Rafah frontier post is closed as long as its
adjacent frontier strip is exposed to shelling and explosives.
Everybody who wishes to join the FPA group should commit
himself in written form that he alone dares the full responsibility of
the danger he/she may encounter in the Gaza Strip. He/she should confirm
that he/she does not claim responsibility of whatsoever kind from the
FPA or any Egyptian authority meaning that Cairo Foreign Press
Association considers itself not responsible for any incident occurring
during that visit.
The proposed date for the visit is 8.00 hrs. in the morning
of
Monday,
16 February, 2009. A bus will wait in front of FPA Office, then we continue
directly to the Rafah frontier post and cross over into the Palestinian
side. However, in case we will be able to cross over directly after the
arrival of our group at a fixed time it will be decided by the Egyptian
frontier post officials. I could not convince the authorities concerned
of leaving the decision to enter the Gaza Strip to our group members
themselves.
After having crossed over into the Gaza Strip taxi cabs
will transport us to
Rafah
City where we meet with some Palestinians, then we continue to Gaza City
where we will check in at a hotel on the Corniche. The room/breakfast
rate will not exceed 75,-US Dollar.
We suppose to meet with the responsible UNRWA commander in
the Gaza Strip as well as members of Hamas depart aside from Palestinian
nationals in hospitals and areas which have been bombarded and badly
hit. A meeting with the editor- in chief of the only
Gaza daily newspaper is planned as well. If we should not be able to
stand up fully to our principal program FPA should not bear the
responsibility due to the unusual situation in the Gaza Strip.
The costs of transport in the Gaza Strip are unclear and
change from day to day and will be decided upon arrival.
Those of our members wishing to join kindly deposit the sum
of 200,- Egyptian Pound at the FPA office not later than Thursday, 15.00
hrs and submit their passport details and their professional status.
In case that we should be forced to delay our visit we will
inform you directly.

الآعزاء أعضاء جمعية المراسلين
الاجانب بالقاهرة،
تنوى جمعيتنا ترتيب رحلة الى
قطاع غزة لمدة أربعة آيام وقد أبدت الجهات المصرية المعنية استعدادها
لتسهيل الدخول عبر ميناء رفح البرى والعودة عن طريقه لتوفير الوقت وتجنبنا
الانتظار لعدة أيام وساعات على البوابة، مع العلم ان المعبر يُغلق فى حالة
تعرض منطقة العبور الى القصف ،
على كل راغب فى الانضمام الى
مجموعة جمعية المراسلين ان يتعهد كتابةً بأنه يسافر على كامل مسئوليته
الخاصة وانه على علم بالاخطار المحتملة المترتبة على دخول قطاع غزة وانه لن
يطالب جمعية المراسلين الاجانب أو أي جهة حكومية مصرية بأي تعويض من أي نوع
كان باعتبار جمعية المراسلين الاجانب بالقاهرة خالية من اي مسئولية الامر
الذى ينطبق على كافة الجهات المصرية،
التاريخ المقترح لبدء الرحلة
الثامنة صباح الآثنين الموافق 16 فبراير 2009 فى أتوبيس من أمام مقر
الجمعية، ثم نتوجه رأساً الى حدود رفح لنعبر الى الجانب الفلسطينى. أما
إمكانية العبور بالفعل وقت وصولنا كمجموعة واحدة وفى موعد واحد فسيتوقف على
الوضع الامني خلف الحدود المصرية وعدم حدوث معركة او قصف، لاننى لم أتمكن
من إقناع الجهات المختصة من ترك قرارالعبور للمراسل نفسه حتى إذا وقع
التعهد المشار إليه،
بعد العبور سوف ننقل بسيارات
أُجرة خاصة الى رفح ونلتقى ببعض المواطنين ثم نكمل الرحلة إلى مدينة غزة
حيث ننزل بفندق على الكورنيش
على ان سعر الغرفة بالافطار لا يزيد عن 75 دولار،
من المفترض ان تتضمن الزيارة أن
نلتقى مع مسئول الامم المتحدة وممثلين عن حركة حماس والحكومة ومواطنين
علاوة على زيارة مستشفيات ومناطق الدمار ورئيس تحرير الجريدة الوحيدة التى
تصدر فى غزة في الوقت الحاضر.
في حالة عدم التمكن من الوفاء
بالبرنامج المبدئى هذا فرجاء عدم تحميل جمعية المراسلين المسئولية، تكاليف
الآنتقالات غير واضحة بعد بسبب تذبذب أسعار سيارات الاجرة ، على أية حال
اقترح على الاعضاء الراغبين في المشاركة ان يودعوا في مكتب الجمعية مبلغ
مائتى جنيه مصرى، وصورة جواز السفر وبيانات الوضع المهنى والوظيفى،
