A playground will be set up for the youngest guests of the fair, with competitions and quizzes offered by the Vesyolye Kartinki children’s magazine. The winners will get children’s books by famous Russian authors – Agnia Barto and Kornei Chukovsky – in Arabic as prizes.

An Interesting Fact

There is a special logo designed to be used for Russian displays at international book fairs and exhibitions. It was designed for the Madrid Book Fair, where Russia was also invited as a guest of honor in 2009. It is a swan with wings shaped like pages of an open book and the words “Books from Russia. Reading together.” The logo has been altered to accommodate the Arabic script, but essentially remained the same.
