Dear colleagues of the
Cairo Foreign Press Association,
Between
17th
and 19th
of October 2008, the University of Witten/Herdecke (Germany) holds a
unique "Conference of
Arab
and German Family Enterprises"
in the Cairo Four Seasons Hotel".
Arab ministers, highly positioned economists of Egypt, the Gulf
countries and other parts of the Arab world, as well as leading
representatives of German family enterprises and economists are going to
discuss the prospects and problems of family enterprises in the Arab
world.
Of course, the impact of the unfolding global financial crisis will be
an important item, too. Ten journalists, members of the FPA, will have
the chance to attend and participate in this extraordinary meeting.

This October some of the most influential Family Businesses from Germany
and the Arab world come together in Cairo for the „I.
Arab-German Family Business Summit”,
which is organized by the
International Institute for Family Enterprises (IIFE).
The
I. Arab-German Family Business Summit
enables over 100 of the most influential Family Businesses and
entrepreneurs from both the Arab world and
Germany
to meet, learn from one another, and engage in an open intercultural
dialogue. During the summit – held under the patronage of the German
Minister of Economics and Technology, H.E. Michael Glos, and the
Egyptian Minister for Trade and Industry, H.E. Rachid Mohammed Rachid, -
all participants not only get the chance to discuss their experiences
directly, but they are also able to compare their views on the subject
with those of some of the world’s leading academic lecturers, coming
from institutions like Wharton School of Management, Princeton
University and Yale University, the London Business School, and Witten/Herdecke
University. For three days these scholars and other well-known experts
establish a link between economic theory and everyday business practice
in numerous workshops about special issues of family-owned businesses.
Family Businesses represent over 90% of all Arab and German firms. They
face very specific social and economic challenges and the IIFE aims to
provide valuable information to create knowledge that is vital to their
long-term success. The institute is the first of its kind to
specifically focus on the problems and characteristics of Arab Family
Businesses – no other research institution in the world has until today
taken a similar approach.
The
IIFE is the international branch of the renowned German
Witten Institute for FamilyBusinesses (WIFU)
at
the University of Witten/Herdecke in Germany.
The I. Arab-German Family Business Summit
is
the kick-off event for the IIFE’s activities. The IIFE was founded by
Timm Tiller and Paul Dietze in January 2008 after they noticed the
shortage of business-research in their field and – equipped with
knowledge and experience from working with the
Witten Institute for Family Enterprises
in
Germany – they decided to close the gap. In the near future the IIFE
will extend its portfolio of activities all of which are to be based on
three columns: providing a platform for the exchange of knowledge and
experience among family businesses, researchers and politicians from
both the Arab world and
Germany,
offering specialized executive education, and conducting extensive
research in the field of family businesses.

الألمانى للمشروعات العائليه يقيم مؤتمره الأول بالقاهره
أقام
المعهد الألمانى للمشروعات العائليه مؤتمره الأول بالقاهره فى لفته طيبه
وتعنى الكثير من الإشارات الإيجابيه وذلك لإلقاء الضوء على المشروعات
العائليه ليس فى ألمانيا والشرق الأوسط فحسب ولكن إستضاف المعهد أصحاب
خبرات من دول مختلفه ،بالإضافه الى إستضافه العديد من خبراء المال
والإقتصاد فى العالم ونذكر منهم على سبيل المثال المتحدث الأسبق للحكومه
الألمانيه بيرنهارد بلانتر وهو فى ذات الوقت رئيس غرفه الصناعه الألمانيه وفلوريان
أميرلر رئيس غرفه التجاره الألمانيه العربيه .
وعلى
الرغم من حداثه أعمار الشباب القائميين على المعهد والمؤتمر إلا أن جميع
الحضور قد أثنى عليهم لنجاحهم المبهر فى جمع هؤلاء االخبراء من أنحاء
العالم باضافه الى أصحاب المشروعات للتواصل وإستعراض تجاربهم نظرا لما
تمثله تلك المشروعات العائليه فى كافه الدول من أهميه للإفتصاد الوطنى .
وخلال
جلسات العمل صرح الكثيريين من أصحاب المشروعات العائليه أنهم قد إستفادوا
كثيرا من تجارب وخبرات الآخريين سواء فى ألمانيا أو دول الشرق الأوسط . وقد
تميز المؤتمر أن المتحدثيين كانوا هم أصحاب المشروعات أنفسهم لشرح ظروف
العمل فى أعمالهم وقد تخوف بعضهم من عدم إهتمام الجيل الثانى أو الثالث
بتلك المشروعات التى أسسوها بالعرق والدم وقد قال البعض منهم أنهم إستعانوا
بخبرات إداريه لمشروعاتهم لضمان إستمرارها بالتعاون مع إداره من داخل
العائله أو إصدار أسهم وسندات لإشراك حاملى تلك الأسهم فى الإداره .
وقد صرح
الخبير المالى الأمريكى دونالد سون خلال المؤتمر الصحفى الذى عقد فى ختام
المؤتمر أن الشركات العائليه هى الهلب الذى يمسك بالأرض فى حاله مواجهه
مصاعب إقتصاديه قد تعصف بالدول وهذه الشركات لا تمثل أهميه لأصحابها فقط
ولكن أيضا للعامليين بها فهى تمثل حجر أساسى فى البناء الإقتصادى للدول .
وقال
الخبير المالى هاينكر أن مالمسناه من تجاوب بين الجانب الألمانى والعربى
خلال جلسات العمل
كانت
إيجابيه وأسهمت ىكثيرا فى إثراء تلك الجلسات وشجعتنا على الإستمرار فى
الحوار حيث كانت المشاكل التى تتعرض لها تلك المشروعات العائليه متشابهه
رغم بعد المسافات وإختلاف الظروف من دوله لأخرى ، وأضاف أننى قد تعلمت
كثيرا من تجارب العالم العربى والمصرى على وجه الخصوص وعلى الرغم من أن
الشركه التى أعمل بها عائليه إلا أننى لست عضوا بتلك العائله وهناك نصائح
كثيره تبادلناها
وسأعمل
على تطبيقها .
وعن كيفيه
معالجه الأزمه الماليه العالميه الحاليه قال إن هذه الأمور تحتاج لخبير
للتحدث فيها ونحن نعرف أن صادرات ألمانيا تعتمد كثيرا على الحاصلات
الزراعيه بجانب المنتجات الصناعيه وألمانيا تتأثر بما يدور حولها فى العالم
وإن تأثر العالم العربى فسينعكس ذلك سلبا على ألمانيا بما فى ذلك الكساد
الذى يضرب العالم حاليا وسيبدوهذا جليا فى المستقبل ، وفى مشروعنا ليس
لدينا حاملى أسهم أو سندات يؤثرون فى قراراتنا وهذا يعطينا مساحه للتحرك .
وأضاف أن
مجالات الإستثمار فى مصر بالنسبه للألمان كثيره مثل صناعه السيارات والعالم
كله مهتم بذلك والزراعه وكذا الزراعه الحيويه والبيئيه والنسيج والطباعه
ونحن نعلم أنه قد أنشأت أكاديميه هايدلبرج للطباعه فى مصر ، وقد كان
للتغيير الوزارى فى مصر الفضل فى الإستقرار وأعطى ثقه فى الإقتصاد المصرى
لى العالم كله ، كما أنه يوجد إستثمارات مصريه فى ألمانيا مثل مصنع بافاريا
وعائله ساويرس لها أيضا إستثمارات لدينا ، جاء هذا فى معرض إجابته على سؤال
حول فرص الإستثمار وحجمها بين مصر وألمانيا .
وأوضح أن
35% من حجم الإقتصاد الألمانى من أنشطه تجاريه وزراعيه يقوم على المشروعات
العائليه لدينا .
وقد تحدث
د. مشعل كانو من العربيه السعوديه عن تجربه مشروعه العائلى فقال أننا فكرنا
منذ عام مضى فى إصدار أسهم وسندات لمشروعنا ولكن الفكر الخليجى عموما يعارض
تلك الأفكار والعائلات عندنا تفضل أن تظل مشروعاتها ملكها لضمان حريه
الحركه وإتخاذ القرارت دون التأثر بمؤثرات خارجيه ،
وقال إن
الناس تنسى بسرعه وذاكرتها ضعيفه فالأزمات الماليه التى عصفت بأسواق المال
فى الخليج منذ سنوات غير بعيد لا يتذكرها المستثمرون ويقبلون على الإستثمار
فى البورصات لتحقيق أرباح سريعه ،
وأوضح أن
طبيعه تلك الشركات العائليه مختلفه حيث يفضل الكثير منهم عدم الإعلان عن
وجود مشاكل داخل العائله بخصوص تلك المشروعات وقد يؤثر ذلك على أسلوب
الإداره لتلك الشركات ولكن من مزايا المؤتمر أنه جعلهم يتحدثون عن مشاكلهم
بصراحه وشفافيه للوصول لحلول لها إن أمكن وإشراك الآخريين معهم لإيجاد رؤى
مشتركه تقرب بينهم وكان ذلك إيجابيا للغايه .
وخلال
المؤتمر الصحفى قال بول ديتز المدير الإدارى للمعهد أن تزامن إنعقاد
المؤتمر مع إنهيار أسواق المال فى بعض دول العالم الكبرى قد أعطى للمؤتمر
أهميه كبر وفرض نفسه فى نقاشات جلسات العمل ، وأضاف ان المشروعات العائليه
تمثل 90 % من حجم المشروعات التجاريه بألمانيا ومصر وهى تواجه نفس
التحديات والمصاعب وأن المعهد بمبادرته هذه يحاول أن يمدهم بالمعلومات
الممكنه لتمكنهم من بناء إستراتيجيات النجاح على المدى الطويل ، ورغم حداثه
عمره هو وأقرانه منظمى المؤتمر قال إن المعهد هو الأول من نوعه المتخصص فى
إلقاء الضوء على المشاكل التى تواجهها المشروعات العائليه العربيه ولا توجد
فى العالم مراكز بحثيه أخرى تهتم بهذه النوعيه من الأبحاث ، وأوضح أن هذا
المعهد يتبع جامعه ويتن هيردك الألمانيه , وقال أن هذا المؤتمر تم برعايه
وزير الإقتصاد والتكنولوجيا الألمانى ووزير التجاره اخارجيه المصرى رشيد
محمد رشيد .
هذا وقد
مزج المؤتمر بين آراء الخبراء الإقتصاديين وأساتذه الجامعات بالإضافه الى
أصحاب المشروعات أنفسهم فكان بذلك تميزا ملحوظا عن كافه المؤتمرات
الإقتصاديه التى تعتمد غالبيتها على محاضرات أكاديميه فقط .
وإختتم
المؤتمر قائلا أن هذه هى البدايه وسوف يعقد المؤتمر سنويا فى دوله مختلفه ،
ولدينا الآن عرض لعقد المؤتمر العام القادم فى لبنان وسوف ندرسه ونقرر متى
وأين وعبر عن أن هدفه جمع المزيد من أصحاب المشروعات العائليه وخبراء
الإقتصاد والأكاديميين فى المؤتمر القادم .
