Living Together: CAIRO – Celebrating Diversity

Invitation On May 22 we will celebrate the diversity of Cairo in a lively event creating new ideas about how our differences can become our common strength. We will illustrate the potential of difference by appealing to all the senses of the human body. Join us in this mosaic of unique experiences, as we visualize diversity through a multicultural fashion show, created by Iraqi and Sudanese designers, as mixed theatre brings diversity on stage, as a fusion of music allows us hear the beauty of difference, and as global food inspires our taste. Information stands will provide insight into the organizations engaged in the ‘Living Together: CAIRO’ project and the Living Together Ambassadors will be present to guide you through the event. This is a great opportunity for networking, so bring your ideas, business cards, and good mood.
Living Together: CAIRO 'Living Together: CAIRO' is intended to bring Egyptians and refugees of all nationalities together to work for mutual benefits. During February and March 2008, twenty dynamic community leaders have participated in the 'Living Together' training program, providing them with concrete tools for creating awareness on issues of coexistence in Cairo. These community leaders are the first ambassadors for 'Living Together: CAIRO'.
The International Night for Dialogue ‘1001 Actions’ is a major campaign initiated by the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation and its network of over one thousand civil society organizations for the mobilization of people and actions dedicated to the promotion of mutual knowledge and respect in the region. In 2008, the "Euro-Mediterranean Year of Intercultural Dialogue", we have a unique opportunity to raise the importance of this issue and to combat misunderstanding and discrimination through our collective action. The key event of the campaign will be the Euro-Mediterranean Dialogue Night on 22 May 2008. The event, which will be held in synchronization in thirty-seven countries, will be an opportunity for people of the Euro-Med region to unite in one common voice for dialogue.

"التعايش" بالقاهرة، هوبرنامج يدعو الى ضم مصريين ولاجئين من جميع الجنسيات
للعمل معاً لتحقيق أهداف مشتركة. خلال شهري فبراير ومارس 2008 ، شارك عشرين
من أكثر قادة المجتمعات المحلية فاعلية في برنامج تدريب "التعايش"
، والذي زودهم بادوات ملموسة لخلق الوعي حول قضايا التعايش في القاهرة.
يعتبرقادة المجتمعات المحلية هؤلاء هم اول سفراء لبرنامج "التعايش".
بعام 2008، وهو عام الاتحاد الأوروبى للحوار بين الثقافات، لدينا فرصة فريدة لزيادة اهمية هذه المسالة ولمكافحة التمييز وسوء الفهم من خلال العمل الجماعي.وسوف تكون لحظة الذروة هى "ليلة الحوار"، وهى حدث رفيع المستوى ينعقد متزامناً عبر سبع وثلاثين دولة، حيث تتاح الفرصة لشعوب المنطقة الاورو متوسطية ان يتوحدوا في صوت واحد للحوار.
