Introduction:
The
board of the FPA believes the FPA has grown in the past years so much in
numbers that the articles in the constitution of January 24, 1977, do
not suffice and it has become important to create by-laws and
regulations in accordance with this constitution.
By-laws and regulations will guarantee that people and issues are dealt
with in fair and equal ways. Only a few years ago, the FPA was a small
organization in which everybody knew each other. The need for written
by-laws was not as important an issue as it is now that the FPA has
grown into an organization with hundreds of members.
1)
Aim of the Foreign Press Association:
To
serve the interests of all its members in carrying out their
professional requirements as foreign media correspondents in Egypt
through the maintenance of communications with the competent Egyptian
authorities, press conferences and trips and other activities. Their
interests are met by providing services in accordance with the type of
membership which will be specified below. If there are complaints or
enquiries the FPA will only look into them if they concern its members
and were submitted in writing to the board.
The
FPA espouses no particular political party, religious thinking,
national identity and as article 2 of the constitution stipulates abides
by the Egyptian law. |
